Certificate of Sir John Brode, curate of Mynster, the freeholders of which parish are suitors to Edward lord Hastynges by reason of the honor of Botreaux Castelle and Worthvale in the said parish, of which honour the manor of Wolston is held, that on the Sunday before Whitsunday, 16 Henry VII, Thomas Worthe of Worthe in the county of Devonshire, esquire, came and prayed him to examine his parishoners concerning the name of the said manor, and that they said Wolston and not Wolneston was its name. Dated 23 May, 16 Henry VII.
